So I have some suggestions on how to add real depth.įirst, my idea is that citizens should also have a salary, health status (not just good or bad but actual diseases) and an actual occupation (ie a doctor). Even people with cars use public transportation if they notice driving with their own car might be slower because of the traffic."Īll of these aforementioned components of "depth" seem to be related to the citizens on some level utilizing the buildings and transportation infrastructure. If public transportation is available, most of the people without cars will use it for longer trips. Not all citizens own cars, so some walk and others drive. Citizens travel to work, go shopping and occasionally visit leisure locations like parks. Citizens have a name, age, a home and a workplace, unless they are students at the university or too young to work. This quote really seems to summarize the "depth"."Skylines is how the individual citizens and goods move around the city. In the latest develop diary, the developers say they have decided to decrease the population as to add depth to the citizens that live in the city, yet the depth doesn't seem impressive. My main concern is that there is no real depth to this game. There is only 2-3 months until release yet the game seems really hollow. I really love city-building games but it seems lately most of them have been big disappointments, and this game doesn't seem different.
